The Department of Defense announced agreements with OpenAI, Google, Nvidia, Microsoft, AWS, SpaceX, and Reflection AI to deploy AI on Impact Level 6 and Level 7 classified networks for warfighter decision support. Anthropic was excluded after refusing the Pentagon's demand for unrestricted access to Claude—including for autonomous weapons and domestic mass surveillance—and the two parties remain in active litigation. The White House last week said Anthropic was "shaping up," leaving open the possibility of the company rejoining the program after Anthropic won a March injunction blocking its designation as a "supply-chain risk," a label previously reserved for foreign adversary-linked firms.
