Anthropic and AWS announced on April 20 that Anthropic will secure up to 5 gigawatts of AWS capacity — covering Trainium2 through Trainium4 — for training and deploying Claude over the next decade. Anthropic commits more than $100 billion to AWS technologies; Amazon adds $5 billion immediately with up to $20 billion more available, on top of an earlier $8 billion investment. The expansion is driven by Claude's run-rate revenue surpassing $30 billion, up from roughly $9 billion at end of 2025, with nearly 1 GW of Trainium capacity coming online by end of 2026.
