Google Cloud has signed a single-digit-billion-dollar infrastructure deal with Thinking Machines Lab, the AI startup founded by former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati, TechCrunch reports exclusively. The non-exclusive agreement gives Thinking Machines among the first access to Google's GB300-powered systems and covers compute for training and deployment, specifically to support the reinforcement learning workloads underlying Tinker, the startup's flagship product for automating custom frontier model creation. Thinking Machines was valued near $50 billion in its most recent funding round and had previously received a significant investment from Nvidia.
