X-energy, a small modular reactor and TRISO nuclear fuel developer, began its investor roadshow on April 15 targeting up to $814 million at $16–$19 per share on the Nasdaq. The company's SEC filing explicitly cites surging AI data center electricity demand as a central driver for its Xe-100 reactor technology. Amazon's Climate Pledge Fund led a $500 million investment in 2024 and has committed to deploy four X-energy reactors generating roughly 320 megawatts, with delivery targeted for the early 2030s. X-energy received an NRC Special Nuclear Material License for its Oak Ridge TRISO-X fuel facility in February 2026.
